Day #1 - HEALING FROM AIDS
It may seem bold. It might sound far-fetched at first. But ask yourself this: Is anything too hard for God? AIDS is not too hard for God. We are asking God to perform miracles in the lives of these children by healing them of AIDS. We want to ask God to show His hand and begin healing AIDS in Africa. Children who have contracted AIDS from their mothers or from prostitution, and men and women whose children will become orphans unless their parents are healed. Are you ready to believe that God is greater than AIDS? Step out in faith and join us in asking God to heal AIDS - especially for the sake of the children.
Heavenly Father, You know that I dont understand all of the sociological and scientific nuances of AIDS. I certainly don't have a cure. But I do know that You are the God that heals. All I know to do is to ask You to intervene in the lives of the children who are battling AIDS. In most cases they have acquired it from their mothers at birth. In some cases they have gotten it as a result of the acts of evildoers. You know the pain and the hurt in these little lives. You know the names and count the tears of each of the 14 million children who have lost parents to AIDS.
So today, Lord, we are asking big. We are asking You to heal AIDS. Heal the children's parents of AIDS. Show us what we should be doing to help them. And be glorified through their healing. We cannot do this ourselves. So far, scientists can only relieve the pain and delay the finality of AIDS. But You can say the Word and they will be healed. Do this for Your glory, and so that many will turn and put their hope in You.

I think we all need to take a moment to reflect on what it would feel like if we had AIDS. Or worse, if our child had AIDS. Feel the pain, now pray with compassion. God can do anything.
I thank God EVERY day for my two healthy boys, and EVERY day my heart breaks for these precious children with AIDS in Africa. I am praying with such faith and hope for a huge miracle to happen over there. I know that one day, through God's power, He will wipe this devastating disease away... along with the tears of all of those children. In Jesus name, Amen.

What a great opening prayer for forty days of prayer for the children. Nothing to big for our God! It's great to play a part in prayer in what God is going to do over the next 40 days.

Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, who enabled your servant Job to go victoriously through great bodily suffering without denying your name, power and love. Have mercy on us, Lord, who are stricken by this epidemic of AIDS. Stretch out your healing hand and hold back this virus. Strengthen and comfort, in Jesus Christ, those infected and ease their pain of body and mind. Send your Holy Spirit, renew us all, and lead us into repentance and faith in the Gospel. Give us the gift of discipline, that we may keep our bodies and minds clean and holy. Grant wisdom, knowledge and perseverance to all who seek a cure for AIDS, that they may find the drugs to prevent and heal the disease. Have mercy on us, Lord, and on all AIDS sufferers through out the world. Give us love and compassion to all who seek to assist them, through Jesus our Lord. Amen.
